Today, we're going to be going over and showing you how to install the seven and four pole trailer connector mounting bracket with socket for a 2019 GMC Canyon. So this is what our trailer connector is going to look like installed.As you can see here, it has a very factory like finished install look. It's going to actually be designed specifically for the cutout in the bumper. As we can see here, here's our dummy plug that we removed. It's going to have the exact same shape fitting in the exact same cutout.This trailer connector here was specifically designed for this vehicle and the cutout in the bumper. more

Hopkins Multi-Tow Trailer Connector Installation - 2016 GMC Canyon- Video
Today on your 2016 GMC Canyon, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Hopkins Trailer Wiring Kit. This is going to make a great replacement for an existing one that may be damaged or an upgrade if your truck doesn't have one from the factory. With this kit, you'll receive both a seven-way connector, as well as a four-way connector, so you'll have various options to hook up to whatever trailers you might have. If you have a smaller trailer, they don't typically have trailer brakes, so you just need the lighting components for it and our four-pole puts out nothing but lighting, so you'll likely be using this one. But if you've got a medium or larger size trailer, or maybe a camper, they often have electric brakes and they'll use your seven way connector here, which has not only your lighting outputs, but your charge line to charge the batteries on your trailer, as well as a trailer brake output.It's custom designed for your Canyon, so it'll fit directly into the mounting location in your bumper, whether you're replacing an existing one that looks very similar to this, or if you've just got a dummy plug here. Hopkins Multi-Tow Trailer Connector Installation - 2019 GMC Canyon- Video
Rob: Rob here at etrailer.com and today you're going to be taking a look at the Hopkins Multi-tow 7-way blade and 4-way connector on our 2019 GMC Canyon. Now here's what our connector is going to look like and it is going to buy us both that 7-way blade RV style connector as well as a 4-way flat connector. Those are going to be the two most common connectors you'll find on trailers. It's going to provide us with all the lights and functions that you would find either in a four or 7-way. 4-way is going to give us all of our tail lights, turn signals, and our brake lights, and the 7-way will give us those functions along with our brake controller signal, a 12 volt power source and our reverse lights. In our connector itself here it's going to be really easy to use. more

Speaker 1: Today in this 2010 GMC Canyon, we'll be having a look at and showing you how to install the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness with a 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number 41165. Here's what our wiring harness looks like installed. Now, the reason you're going to want a wiring harness like this one is that this gives you the basic lighting functions the are required by law in order for you to safely and legally tow a trailer. This white wire here provides the necessary ground connection between your Canyon and your trailer. This brown wire here provides the tail light and running light signal. This yellow wire is your left turn signal and left brake light, and this green wire is your right turn signal and right brake light.We have this nice dust cover here that will help better protect our connector when it's not in use, and we can use some of our provided dielectric grease that comes with this to go inside, or if you find that you need more, we do have some available on our website. more

Speaker 1: Today on this 2010 GMC Canyon we'll be having a look at and showing how to install the CURT T-Connector vehicle wiring harness with a five-pole flat trailer connector, part number C56510.Here's what our wiring harness looks like installed. Now the reason you're going to want a wiring harness such as this one is that this gives you the basic lighting functions that are required by law in order for you to safely and legally tow a trailer. The white wire is our necessary ground connection between our Canyon and our trailer. The brown wire provides our taillight signal and also our running light signal. On that wire we have a total power output of five amps, so it's more than sufficient to tow a small trailer with several incandescent light bulbs or basically as many LEDs as you want, because LED lights do draw less power. The yellow wire is for our left turn signal and left brake light. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2012 GMC Canyon- Video
Today in this 2012 GMC Canyon were going to install the Hopkins 4-Pole Wiring Kit part# 41165. The 4-Pole Wiring Kit installs in line with the manufacturer's wiring. First we'll disconnect the manufacturer's plug here above the spare tire, now we can go ahead and take our new 4-Pole Connector and plug it in line with the manufacturer's wiring. Once we get it plugged in we can go ahead and route our wiring and mount the converter box. To mount the converter box I'm just going to use a black zip tie and attach it directly to the frame. Then I can route my 4-Pole Connector over to the hitch. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2012 GMC Canyon 118384- Video
Today on the 2012 GMC Canyon we're going to install a toe ready T1 connector, part number 118384. Press on the locking tab and disconnect it from the manufacturer's wiring. Then we can take our toe-ready connector and plug it in line with the manufacturer's wiring. With my connector plugged in, I'll now go and take a couple of black set of ties just to secure my wires. With our wires secured and our plug routed to the hitch, that completes the install of our toe ready T1 connector, part number 118384. . more
